Bolsa Bucks

The new school-wide expectations, BOLSA, comes with a reward system called Bolsa Bucks, given to “acknowledge and reinforce students for demonstration and practice of behavior expectations.” A group of faculty developed this to encourage the culture of good character, in essential what a Matador should be.

Each week, teachers will be given two Matabucks to distribute to deserving students who will be entered in a monthly raffle. The winners will go to the quad to spin a wheel and win exciting prizes such as gift cards, Matastore bucks, Bolsa gear, privileges, etc. These particular drawings happen during the last Thursday of every month and the twenty students who win this honor will be given a slip to report to the Heptagon at lunch.

In addition, there will also be weekly drawings that currently have an undetermined scheduled day. Teachers may submit one name for these raffles and will choose those who follow the new BOLSA expectations.

Five students will be selected and asked to come to the office in recognition of their actions. The prizes handed out for weekly drawings are smaller than monthly ones, but make sure to follow BOLSA expectations for a chance to win weekly and/ monthly prizes.

Matabucks will have a section to be filled out by students: name, ID number, and given by whom. After pulling apart the smaller ticket, students may turn it into the Attendance office while teachers put the other half of the Matabuck in a separate office box.
